Who is Petrophysicist

This is my own type of understanding.
Pp are divided into 3; operation, reservoir studies and laboratory.

As you already aware, PP- Operation and Reservoir Studies are similar.
1. We do Well logs interpretation that cover porosity, permeability, lithology and all of them calibrate to core data.
2. Core data analysis is also another job scope of area where we analyse RCA and SCAL.
3. Saturation calculation by logs and SHF is another different story, and it is part of PP workscope.

Now, let us focus on PP in laboratory. All data that we get from UZMA, PRSB, CORE LAB were done by PP actually. In general, the workscope are;

1. Core Plug selection. This is being done by PP with strong GG background, which is called Sedimentologist. After selection, they will prepare the core and this is a workscope as well.

2. RCA is routine core analysis that cover experiments for porosity, density and permeability.

3. SCAL is Special Core Analysis. There are lots of experiments for this such as NMR, CAPILLARY PRESSURE, XRAY DIFFRACTION, FTIR etc.
