The Unspoken Roles of A Husband

1. I was at the hospital for the whole day, try to finish the unsettled business. There were few occasions that made me thinking.

2. SOP states that children below 12 y.o. are restricted to enter wards, for their own goodness. There was one parent who brought along his daughter. He insisted, but later appealed, to bring his daughter upstairs. But then, rules are rules. Eventually, the sickmother came down at the lobby to meet them. They could not afford a babysitter, and had nobody for the kid.

3. A husband got arrested by the policemen for stealing. Not quite sure of the whole story, but it impacted the sick wife. No comment on that, but I pray for goodness for both of them.

4. I recited surah Yaasin and had a quick doa. Just about to close the elevator, a guy rushed to me, whispering, asking me to recite the same surah for her wife. Without judging, I just did. The bright side is, he reached out for help. Truly, the wall of hospitals have heard more prayers than the mosques.

5. Through observation, doctors were so stressful and exhausted with so many cases. The seniors were not much helpful when they speaked out loud. I could not imagine their feelings, knowing that they were at the top of their world, back in schools and colleges, and yet received the treatments. Things need to be changed, if not now then when?

 "Dan tidak (dinamakan) kehidupan dunia melainkan permainan yang sia-sia dan hiburan yang melalaikan: dan demi sesungguhnya negeri akhirat itu lebih baik bagi orang-orang yang bertaqwa. Oleh itu, tidakkah kamu mahu berfikir?" (Al-An'aam 6:32)
